Greetings, fellow Oceanlanders!
Once again, I am Eser, representing the Oceanland 2 Story-Writing team. In this post, I aim to share our vision for storytelling in Oceanland 2 and shed light on why we place such a strong emphasis on the narrative, characters, locations, and the overarching Oceanland saga when it comes to scenarios and stories.
As developers of Oceanland, we engaged in numerous discussions when embarking on the creation of Oceanland 2. We contemplated player engagement, immersion, and the future projects that would revolve around what we had already built. In this sense, we decided to craft an epic saga that would encompass both Oceanland 1 & 2, establishing a solid and detailed foundation for upcoming games. In addition to fundamental survival and gathering elements, as well as carefully planned action and RPG components, we resolved to provide our players with an expansive ecosystem spanning Oceanland 1 and 2, as well as future endeavors. This ecosystem will ensure that all games developed within this framework remain relevant and thrilling for years to come.
In terms of storytelling, we’ve chosen to blend elements of science fiction and low fantasy, drawing the best from these two genres to appeal to a wide range of players. This fusion also allows for a diverse array of stories, NFTs, items, quests, and opportunities for an engaging gameplay experience.
Last but certainly not least, we’re excited to announce the creation of a comic series that will serve as a welcoming gateway to the Oceanland Universe for all our players. This comic series will delve into the backstories of crucial characters within this universe, including the explorer Motuha, who happens to be the grandfather of Moi, the antagonist of Oceanland 1, and the driving force behind Moi’s initial expedition to Oceanland.
We hope you share in our excitement for the epic journey that lies ahead and that you eagerly anticipate more news and surprises to come!
Game on!
